Comfort and Recovery After Tummy Tuck Surgery
The surgery is complete and you're anxious to see what your new, flat stomach looks like. But you won't be able to tell immediately.
Though you will be excited to see the results, remember that tummy tuck surgery removes a significant chunk of skin and tightens your muscles. If you received liposuction, fat was also extracted from your abdomen. Your body will need time to adjust.
You may have to stay in the hospital for at least a night and should plan on missing a week or two of work. For the first several days after your surgery, your stomach will be swollen, and you will probably experience some discomfort. This pain can be reduced by medication. Your stitches are typically removed five to seven days after the surgery.
You overall health going into surgery and the type of abdominoplasty performed will determine your recovery period. Your patience and willingness to abide by your doctor's post-operative instructions will also play a role in your healing.
Once you are able to move around, you might be required to wear an "abdominal binder" under your clothing to help your stomach heal, or elasticized stockings to decrease the risk of blood clots in your legs.
Light exercise, such as walking, is often recommended to help you heal faster and more completely. Any exercise should first be approved by your doctor.

How a Body Lift Helps Loose Skin After Weight Loss
You have finally reached your fitness goals, only to be left with massive folds of stubborn skin that won't shrink down to your new size. If your body doesn't look like you dreamed it would after all your hard work, it's easy to get discouraged.
If you were once significantly overweight, your skin expanded to accommodate the excess fat. When your skin is stretched to such a degree, it is permanently damaged. Despite how many miles you run, or how many stairs you climb, your skin will never regain its elasticity. It can never again naturally take the shape of your new slim figure.
Not only can excess skin be frustrating, it can also be a health issue. Hanging folds of skin can lead to rashes and even severe skin infections. While no amount of working out can restore you skin to its original state, there are various cosmetic procedures that can help you attain the body you deserve.
Post-bariatric body contouring surgery, also called "body lift surgery," is a series of safe and effective surgical procedures to remove excess skin and tighten remaining skin to better fit your body.
Skin folds most commonly appear around the abdomen, waist, legs, arms, breasts and neck. Cosmetic surgeons can perform surgery on these areas by cutting away the excess skin and tightening the remaining skin around your muscles. This will result in a toned, sexy appearance.
