Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast cancer is one of the most prevalent diseases in America, and it sadly is the second most common form of cancer women endure. Here at Randall B. Weil MD, FACS, the last thing we want to see is any woman dealing with breast cancer, as the effects of it can be devastating on your life. So in order to help you avoid it, we’ve put together a list of a few things you can do to help prevent breast cancer, or diagnose it early – which is when treatment is most likely to rid it completely from your system.

You should do a self-examination of your breasts every month, at the same time of each month. Get to know them. Learn their shapes and how they feel. If you come across a new abnormality, don’t wait. Call your doctor right away and have them examine your breasts. They can order a sonogram or mammogram to get a closer look.

Breast cancer needs to be fought by all of us together. Remind your friends to examine themselves and to visit their doctors. Post to social media. Remind your doctor to talk to other women about it. Talk to husbands and remind them to speak to their wives. We’re all in this together.

If you have other questions about breast cancer, please don’t hesitate to call us today. We’re here to help in any way that we can.
