Eye lifts, technically called blepharoplasty, are one of the most often requested procedures by both men and women. It’s a relatively small surgery, but its effects are large and dramatic on your facial appearance.
Aging is typically noticed first around the eyes. Crow’s feet, fine lines at the outer corners, droopy eyelids due to fatty deposits and excess skin are all some of the most common signs of aging. To improve the appearance of the area around the eyes, Dr. Randall B. Weil may recommend blepharoplasty in San Francisco, California.
What Does Blepharoplasty Do?
It removes excess fat, skin, and muscle from the eyelids. It gives the eyes a more wide-open look, eliminating droopiness. For some people it even improves vision, if the upper eyelid had been drooping so far as to interfere with vision. Blepharoplasty is covered by insurance if there is a certain amount of vision loss.
What Eyelid Surgery Does Not Do
It cannot remove crow’s feet or raise droopy eyebrows, so you might want to look into having a forehead lift for this. Nor can it lighten the skin if you have dark circles under your eyes. It can improve the bagginess though, and our plastic surgeon can use a laser or chemical peel to help with that discoloration.
